Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

Often times we find ourselves stuck in our daily routines. Wake up, go to work, go home, go to sleep just to do it all again.  The same routine every day is familiar and makes us feel safe. But is that really living? Take some risks and get out of your comfort zone with these 10 tips and tricks:

  1. Find out what is out of your comfort zone. Sometimes we get so comfortable we can’t even fathom doing anything else. Take some time to think about what makes you uncomfortable.
  2. Create a plan. Having a plan will help make stepping out of your comfort zone feel less scary.
  3. Give it a try! This isn’t forever. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to do it again.
  4. Reward yourself. Stepping out of your comfort zone is an achievement. Be sure to reward yourself for your accomplishments.
  5. Find support. Sometimes having someone right by your side can make stepping out much less scary.
  6. The more often you step out of your comfort zone, the easier it will get.
  7. Don’t be afraid to fail. Just like everything else in life, sometimes you will succeed and sometimes you will fail. However, most of our greatest lessons come from our failures. So, if you don’t succeed, try, try again.
  8. Enjoy yourself. Don’t make it a bigger deal than it needs to be. Trying new things is supposed to be fun!
  9. Think about the benefits of trying new things.
  10. Take things slow and stop making excuses!
